The reputed price comparison tool- MySupermarket closes its services after a tall-standing history. Services on a permanent termination from 1 March 2020 include disabling its website and app. This move throws its shoppers or users to leave into a complex situation of dis-allowing comparison of product prices to save money.
MySupermarket free app services provide a comparison of prices across all major UK supermarkets including a few high street stores such as Boots and Poundland. People concerned about saving money had the best option of comparison using My Supermarket app and this has been helping for more than a decade now.
The registered users of comparison site first witnessed an email from CEO Gilad Simhony and president Amir Ofer stating the closure of services. Later the media and public knew about the move that the company is planning for. It was said that parent company MySupermarket Business Solutions, which will continue to operate, will “shift activity toward other business areas”.
Words from Gilad Simhony
The company CEO, Simhony wrote: “After 14 years of service to UK shoppers, the mySupermarket website and mobile application will be taken down from March 1, as we shift our activity towards other business areas.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the tens of millions of you who have used our services over the years and have contributed to its amazing success.
It has been our pleasure and privilege to serve you and to share this journey with you.
“Thank you and goodbye!”
User’s comments via Twitter
We have picked up a few views of users from twitter about MySupermarket closure:
First tweet: “Gutted!! I use it all the time. A great app.”
Another said: “This sucks. I really loved the price drop alerts. A notice of 3 days is pretty lame as well. I guess we just get to be ripped off now instead of being able to shop around.”
The third comment: “Can’t believe MySupermarket is ending. What am I gonna use to compare prices from different supermarkets now? I’ve used this for years!”
