Soft, sweet and fruity Filey Bay Moscatel Finish is a favourite for many and we're delighted to say that Batch #4 is now available.   A primary maturation in ex-Bourbon creates a light and fruity whisky that the ex-Moscatel casks add depth and sweetness too. Launched back in March 2020, Filey Bay Moscatel Finish was our first ‘finished’ whisky and quickly became a favourite of ours – and our customers – to savour and enjoy. The preceding Batches have won a number of awards including Gold at the World Whisky Masters 2022, and now Batch #4 is ready to be enjoyed. Tasting notes: Soft, sweet and fruity with flavours of orange, honey, dried fruits and cocoa. What is Filey Bay Moscatel Finish? This field to bottle single malt was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks, before being transferred to casks from Spain that had previously held Moscatel sherry for up to 10 years. Finishing in Moscatel casks has allowed this whisky to take on more wood spice and layers of fruit such as raisin, orange and honeysuckle on top of our light and fruity bourbon house style.
